Update

I guess we've been long overdue to add an update to the site. Keep in mind that this blog was created to deliver a very specific strategy for both Holy Wars and Events, both of which have changed dramatically from when our initial strategies were designed. New strategies have been developed to address these changes and more information will come out before they are implemented. Future posts will directly discuss:
  • Holy Wars strategy
    • Specific tactics to obtain the maximum rewards for the minimum HP
    • Schedule, victory point rewards and badge rewards
    • Deck building guide to prepare for HW
  • Raid event guide
    • Strategy to maximize your return in the new Raid events
    • How to properly use your AP to earn more points
    • Mystery box details and probabilities of pulls
    • Deck building guide to prepare for Raid events
  • Gameplay tactics
    • The best way to earn honor points and gems
    • How to set up your decks to dominate opponents
    • How to use the Bazaar to earn HP

Strategy for Sylvan Labyrinth Event

As everyone has probably seen, next up in RoB is another "raid" event. In these events you must find enemies and defeat them by using your ATK deck and ATK power; then calling for help from your order and fellows. This is the 3rd raid event in a row if I'm not mistaken, so Mobage must do alright selling HP packs and LCP during these things. People must buy the event specific cards thinking that the key to victory is dealing damage but it's NOT. The Puppet Master Strikes Back was the only event where damage mattered since total damage was used to rank the players. The Elder Homunculus therefore, was essential to attain that goal. But for these raid event where you collect "Sylvan Berries", damage doesn't matter at all.

Here are the 2 basic terms that will be discussed readily in this post that you MUST know for the event:
  • Combo - The key to defeating a monster. A combo is built with consecutive attacks on a monster within 30 minutes of the last attack. A combo can reach a maximum 500% damage bonus after 1000 hits.
  • Invite - This button appears after you have fought a monster and it hasn't been defeated. This will call all fellows who are currently online and not currently engaged in 5 battles.
By making sure the combo is always active and inviting people to join in battles as often as possible, you will rank high in this event. Here are more specific tips to achieve that high ranking for this event:
  1. Don't attack with your full deck - There is nothing more wasteful than using a bunch of your ATK power to hit one monster when the idea is to defeat as many monsters as possible. If you use a full deck all the time, you will have to constantly use HP in order to keep attacking. There are a few exceptions to this rule that will be discussed later in the tips.
  2. Never let a combo expire - As I mentioned before, the combo is the key to defeating a monster. Letting a combo expire will not only drastically reduce the amount of damage you can do to a monster but it also deters other players from wanting to participate. There is no minimum attack to keep a combo going, using a goblin to get that one hit if you need to.
  3. Always invite your order/fellows to battle - This sounds like a no-brainer, but you would be surprised at how very few players will return to a battle to invite more people. After you first attack a monster, you'll be prompted to invite people to join the battle, ALWAYS DO THIS. But your work is not done... When you return to check on the combo to make sure it's active, you should check to see if you can invite more players in. If you are able to the invite button should be visible. Sometimes you will press the invite button and no one comes in. I like to refresh my screen, go back and try again. Remember, more people = bigger combo = more damage = less work/ATK power used by you.
  4. Prioritize bosses - Trust me, the event is going to start and you're gonna go bananas on the 7,500 hit point monsters and they will slowly get better and yada yada yada. Bottom line, the first week of any of these raid events are almost pointless. You get practically nothing in terms of points. For the second half of the event, Mobage will release some big bad boss that takes extra damage from some expensive card and that's when the real fun begins. This does not mean that you shouldn't use the strategies I listed above, on the contrary, PLEASE use them. I'm just pointing out when you have an urge to use an HP and replenish your attack day one then don't, it's entirely wasteful.
  5. Discoverer/Vanquisher - As mentioned before, there are a few exceptions when it comes to using a full deck. When you find and/or defeat a monster you gain bonus points; the bigger the boss, the bigger the points. So if you discover a LVL 300 special monster late in the event, you have to make sure this boss is defeated so you receive the extra bonus points. In this case, using your full deck to build the combo and convince people to participate is essential. Getting the final blow on a boss should work the same way. If you have the chance to finish the boss, use your full deck to deal maximum damage and get the vanquisher reward.
  6. Be active - Again, I'm not telling you anything here that you already didn't know but these raid events favor the players who participate more. I personally set a 20 minute timer on my watch and log in (when I'm able to) to extend the combo in all my battles and invite more people to battle with me. This is a sure fire way to score more points. On that same note, you won't be invited to other battles unless you are online or just recently offline. If you have less than 5 battles, be sure to stay logged in so that you can fill those battle slots. Who knows, maybe you'll be invited to a battle that's almost won and you can sneak in a quick attack for some easy points!!!
To summarize, stay active while extending combos using as little ATK power as possible and invite anyone and everyone to battle with you. This event shouldn't be much different, but there are few changes that may need to be monitored. For one, event skills proc different because 10 card decks are supposed to be used. This may mean we have to attack with a minimum of 3 card, no telling yet. Also, there is a break gauge that builds to perform a Rising Break and I have no idea what this could entail. Considering what happened last Holy Wars, I'm sure it will take a lot of attacks to fill a meter that when full unleashes a stronger attack than a normal attack would.... yay...... Shoot me any questions in the comments if you have them.

Holy War Strategy for HW:Wrath of Lighting

Holy War: Wrath of Lighting Strategy for the Order: Domination
Pre Holy War Preparation

  1. Stockpile 50-100 Purple HP
    1. Sell Cards from Previous Events
    2. Save Personal HP from Events, Login Bonus, Etc.
    3. This should leave you with 75-125 Total (Personal and Normal) HP to use during Holy War.
  2. Buy/Build a FF Wall Card
    1. Our Holy War Strategy depends heavily on Defense and Destroying Walls.
    2. The first two days of Holy Wars a majority of our attacks will be focused on the enemy Wall.
    3. The last two days of Holy War we will need to destroy walls to score as many points as possible.
  3. Buy/Build a Holy War Skill Card
    1. This is actually simple. Holy War Skill cards will score more points during battles so you need one to maximize the points you will score during Holy War.
Holy War Strategy Day 1 (1 of 4 days) The Mutumbo Strategy

  1. Defense. Led by our Defensive Leader
    1. The first two days we will count heavily on our defensive leader to stop enemy attacks and keep our winning scores low.
  2. Attack the Wall
    1. Everyone in the order should hit the wall at least once each Holy War.
    2. Hit the wall with at least one wall card to score points, receive silver coins, and do more damage to the wall.
    3. Depending on the amount of attack power you have. You may want to hit the wall with a couple cards to do more damage. You will gain 60 attack power every 60 minutes so you can hit once with 60 attack power per hour and never have to HP.
    4. Do not use HP on day one.
  3. Take out the Enemy Defensive Leader
    1. This should be done by one of our order's Leaders.
    2. He should only be hit one time.
    3. This is more to demoralize the enemy order. Most orders will give up if their wall is destroyed, their Defensive Leader has been beat, and they have problems getting past our Defensive Leader.
  4. Maximum Points per War: 2000. No HP should be used on day 1!
    1. Taking out the enemy wall and Defensive Leader will net us about 2000 Holy War points.
    2. Our goal the first day is to get as many wins as possible by scoring the least amount of points.
    3. If our opponent decides to score over 2000 points we let them and lose. We do not want to get into HP battles on day 1. We want easy wins and to face weaker orders for the next two days.
Holy War Strategy Day 2 (2 of 4 days) The Mutumbo Strategy Part 2
  1. Defense: Led again by the Defensive Leader
  2. Attack and drop the wall
  3. Take out the Enemy Defensive Leader
  4. Maximum Points per War: 5000 Again NO HP should be used.
    1. Our Strategy is similar to day 1. Count on the Defensive Leader to hold off attacks. Destroy the Enemy Wall and Beat the Enemy Defensive Leader. The difference is if they put up a fight we fight with them to 5000 points. We want to score more points than day one but we don't want to fight orders who will want to HP battle us.
Holy War Strategy Day 3 (3 of 4) The Moving Day Strategy
  1. Drop the Wall
  2. Take out the Defensive Leader
  3. Win
    1. That is the goal of moving day. Wins
    2. Listen to our Leaders for instructions on when to quit attacking. Basically we want to win every battle we can and by as close a margin as we can.
    3. Listen to chat or the order forum for instructions. Be prepared to Blitz the enemy in the last minutes of a Holy War. It's typical for everyone to start attacking with 5 or 3 minutes left so they have little time to react to what we are doing.
  4. Maximum Points Per War: TBD. Get Wins. Use HP but save some for Sunday. Listen for instruction from Leaders on when to keep fighting or give up.
Holy War Strategy Day 4 (4 of 4 days) The HP Battle Strategy
  1. Drop the Wall
  2. Take out Defensive Leader
  3. Win.
    1. Win today because your Holy War points will be doubled in wins. Today is about moving up the rankings. We want to rank up as high as we can for rewards.
  4. Score as many Points as possible, Use all the HP that you have allotted for this Holy War.
    1. Today is the last day. Many orders will be low on HP and walls. That makes them easy pickings. This is our chance to use the HP we didn't use the first two days. Spend as much as you can especially in wins because those points will be doubled.
Summary
  • This strategy should net us the maximum ammount of wins with the least amount of HP spent. Since HP is the currency of this game, its management is vital to long term success in RoB.
  • If you plan on spending a certain amount of HP we ask that you spend it on the last two days when it will matter most. An individual will score approximately the same number of points for the amount of HP they use. We are coordinating our HP usage so that it is far more effective in netting us Holy War Points and Wins.
  • We want to declare for war as often as possible. Let the Leaders of the order declare but we want to be in as many battles as possible to let our dominant Defensive Leader win the wars for us.
  • Make sure you attack once each war. Even if your attack power is low hit the wall with one card to net yourself silver coins.

How to maximize your Holy Wars points

Along with the Holy Wars strategy that DannyDips is about to post, I figured it would be a good time to explain to the new/less experienced players how to maximize your points during holy wars. These are general guidelines that are recommended, unless you plan on mindlessly burning through HP like the top orders do... In that case, you don't belong in Domination.
  1. The wall must be destroyed - This is the most basic premise. You earn 2x as many HW points when the wall is brought down. Attacking players while a wall is still standing is the equivalent of spending twice as much HP, not worth it.
  2. Get a HW pts boost card - Another obvious one, build a HW pts card for your realm and skill it up. The new cards (High Werewolf, Chiron, Luminous Knight) have better stats and skill, but if you can't afford them then the old cards (Witch Commander, Principality, Sektor) are very serviceable and cheap.
  3. Target leaders if you can - Order leaders give 1.5x HW pts, vice leaders and ATK/DEF leaders give 1.2x HW pts. Beat these players if you can, however..........................
  4. Choose battles you will win - This might sound trivial, but losing a battle during HW nets you ZERO points. A win, even against the weakest player on their team, gets you something. Although stronger players will give you more points, the risk of losing is too detrimental to take a stab at higher level player. If you don't think you can beat the leaders mentioned above, choose a better target and make sure you get points.
  5. Analyze the opponents - This step ties the previous 2 steps together... After the opponents wall and DEF leader are dropped, the best thing to do is look at each opponent for the other team. You need to compare 2 things: the estimated HW pts and honor points gained from this battle. Since honor points are a indirect measure of the opponents' DEF deck, the best player to attack is the one who yields the highest HW pts with the lowest honor points. It is common for some players to not build DEF decks and focus entirely on ATK... Theses players will still yield full HW pts, but will have estimated honor points of 0-1. Exploit these players, because they are bringing their team down. Have a deck setup for these type of players tat has your HW pts boost card in the first position. Top orders, since they don't have strategy other than spend HP and spam their opponents, often fall short of the maximum amount of points because they're attacking players who aren't yielding what they could.
In summary, follow these steps and you will always maximize the amount of HW points you obtain during Holy Wars. Be sure to read DannyDips post when he gets it up, it will have important strategy for how we will conduct ourselves in Holy Wars. The strategies mentioned above should not be used at all times, as we will be attacking selectively and remaining patient throughout most of Holy Wars. However, in the final hours, this stratgey is essential when we let the "dogs" loose
